This is one of our favourite songs on the album. It came about after Sean read a book of the same name back in 2002. The book detailed one man's journey to discover the truth behind the myth that is 'anti-gravity' propulsion and the associated technologies. The book takes you on a journey and if you've the slightest interest in either technology or even just in how the world is really run behind the scenes, this book will grab you like no other.
When it came to writing songs for the album, Sean had already persuaded Rick to read the book and before long Sean had got the basics of 'Zero Point' recorded. He wanted to create a piece that captured the mystery, underhand dealing and damnright weirdness of the book's awesome story. With Rick's help, Sean feels he's captured exactly that.
Whe it came to adding the vocal, Sonic Hub knew that they wanted to continue their theme of taking artists out of their comfort zone, which is why they asked Rick's sister, Kim to do the opera style vocal. A world away from Kim Wilde's usual pop/rock style, she came through with a stunning performance and it adds the finishing touch to this eerie and unusual electro-dance masterpiece.

In April 1992 the UK Institution of Mechanical Engineers ran a lecture entitled: Anti Gravity! The End of Aerodynamics? At the heart of the lecture was a recognition by leading scientists in the UK aerospace and defence industry of an extraordinary energy source.
But the story doesn't start there-
In 1945 the Allies discovered that the Nazis had built the world's most advanced military research centres. In the dying days of the war these centres were under the control of one man - SS General Hans Kammler. One of the most important of Hitler's generals, he vanished at the end of the war and with him went virtually all record of his existence.
However, like the rocket scientist Von Braun who was spirited out of Germany by the US military, evidence of his work exists throughout the American military research of the last fifty years.
At the heart of this research is an energy source a thousand times more powerful than nuclear power.
An energy source once derided as stridently as Einstein was when he talked of splitting the atom.
An energy source suppressed for fifty years because of its huge economic threat.
An energy source that now offers the world a future, limitless supply of power: zero point energy.
"The Hunt For Zero Point is the story of my ten-year investigation as Aviation Editor of Jane's Defence Weekly into the truth - or not - of anti-gravity, the 'Holy Grail' of aerospace propulsion technologies. I was drawn into the story, much against my will at first, by my chance discovery of a 1950s aerospace publication that set out in great detail the mid-1950s anti-gravity R&D activities of a large number of US aerospace and defence companies. What, I wondered, had happened to all this research? And why had all these companies since gone quiet on the subject?" Nick Cook.

In January 2007, Sean from Sonic Hub met Nick Cook in London for chat about the book, the song, and generally about all things related to the subject. Sean went armed with questions about the some of the book's unsolved mysteries and the pair exchanged a signed copy of the album and a signed copy of the book.
Sean said of the meeting, "It was a fantastic opportunity to meet someone i really admire and then pick his brains! Nick is a thoroughly nice bloke who obviously loves his work and his enthusiasm about the song really makes it all worthwhile. To be able to chat to the author of my favourite book over a beer is just fantastic...and it's not lost on me that this is a rare perk of the business we're in."

"I was amazed when Sean first wrote to me to say that Sonic Hub had produced a track inspired by The Hunt For Zero Point, but, then again, the book does seem to have had an impact on people I'd never have guessed at when I sat down to write it five years ago. I love the track, am very happy that Kim Wilde is featured on it, and think it captures the essence of the book - a mixture of the sense of wonder, mystery, threat and hope that I felt when I went out on the road to research it. I wish Sonic Hub, Eye of the Storm and everyone involved in it every success with an album that deserves to do very well ..." Nick Cook 2007
